About Me

I'm Hayes, a technical game designer and artist from Utah! I'm passionate about scripting, character rigging/animation, and creating unconventional interactive experiences. I am currently solo-developing a surreal photography horror game titled Ritual Static in the Unity engine, slated to release on Steam in Q3 2025.

I have multiple years of experience designing systems, writing code, and rigging characters for 3D games in both Unity and Unreal, and am eager for work as a technical designer. I am fluent in C#, Python, and Java, and familiar with industry-standard programs like Maya and the Adobe Creative Suite.

I graduated from the University of Utah in May 2025 with both a bachelors of science in Game Development and a bachelors of science in English literature. I served as the 2025 Engineering Officer for the GameCraft club at the University of Utah, and love teaching C# scripting workshops for my peers! When not working, I enjoy reading science fiction novels, watching experimental horror films (Pulse and Tetsuo The Iron Man are particular favorites!), and bothering my cat.

In addition to making games, I also enjoy writing about them, and have several critical essays published at the online magazine Unwinnable. I keep a casual blog at Medium/@hayes-g850, where I write critically about the games, films, and novels that I cherish.
